Upper Morwick Fishing on the River Coquet is just under 2 miles of prime salmon, sea trout and brown trout water, situated only a few miles upstream of the tidal water at Warkworth, Northumberland.
Upper Morwick Fishing is approximately two miles long, the stretch is predominantly fly fishing but does have some great pools for spinning. The water doesn’t get a lot of pressure and we want to keep it that way. A private 4 rod syndicate fish the water throughout the year and our average catch returns for each season are around 50 salmon and 50 sea trout, making it one of the best stretches on the whole river for average catch returns. The stretch has some superb pools for fly fishing including the lower stream and the upper stream, the top of the beat is amazing for sea trout with long slow glides running down into the Morwick Wood.
Sea trout fishing through the summer months can be incredible if your keen to fish through till darkness, access paths are situated all along the river banks and numerous steps and ropes aid access to the river in certain areas. There is a small fishing hut situated at the lower stream if you wish to get out of any bad weather.
The stretch is well maintained throughout the year to keep access to its best.
If you wish to fish the stretch or have a guided evening or day of fishing for salmon, sea trout or brown trout please get in touch or see the link below if you wish to book a day.
This season we will be allowing 2 rods available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
